WP - Adam Backlund (3-0)
The Hogz bounced back to pick up a win in the second game of the doubleheader against Mikkelsen Insurance. Led by Tyler "Scoop" Kunkel at first base, the Hogz defense shut down the opponents when it mattered most. The team's bats finally got going in the bottom of the second inning with two outs. Berglund, Peterson, Lenarz, Kunde, Larson, and Thomas all picked up base hits. The Hogz ended up scoring five runs in the inning and took a 5-1 lead into the third. The team wouldn't score again until the bottom of the fifth inning when Jason Thomas reached base on a critical error by the opponent's shortstop. Franny Janson and Tyler Kunkel followed him with singles. With runners on first and second, Adam Backlund came up and took a big RBI walk that ended up scoring what would be the game-winning run. After five, the Hogz were up comfortably, 7-2. The visitors hit starting pitcher, Adam Backlund, hard in the sixth inning. They scored four runs on five hits, including another big triple from "Mr. Fist." Luckily, the Hogz kept the lead after six, 7-6. The Hogz escaped with a win after a couple of nice defensive plays in the seventh inning. Kunde and Lenarz finished 2/3 at the plate and Thomas ended with 3 singles.
