WP - Brian Kibler (1-0)

With the bitter taste of defeat still in their mouths, the Hogz came to the plate with a vengeance. Fresh off the bench Kunde started the game with some much needed bang, scorching a line drive single through the infield. Lenarz and Kibler continued the inning with some Hogz style 2 out clutch hitting. The single run in the top of the inning scored by Chris “the spark plug” Kunde, provided a nice confidence boost for Kibler, who made his Co-ed League C debut on the rubber in front of a near sell-out crowd of about 12 spectators. With the new spotlight beating down on Kibler, the young pitcher kept his composer pitching around a 1 out single in the first. In the top of the third the thunderous Hogz lumber came alive once again scoring 4 in the inning sparked by another Kunde base hit. The blood bath continued into the 4th when Thomas roped a line drive 2 out 2 run stand up triple into the left-left center field . Scoring on the play was Kunde and Peterson. The Hogz once again flashed some solid leather in the field led by Gold glove candidate left center fielder Kristina Golling. In the bottom of the 5th, Golling who already had a highlight real catch under her belt, continued her baseball tonight audition with a flea flicker toss back to Peterson who gunned down the husky Hooligan’s 3rd baseman at home which sent the Ball Busters dugout into an uproar. In the bottom of the third, Hooligan’s Ball Busters once again reached into their Busch League playbooks claiming a score keeping error on the Hogz. Nevertheless the Hogz had a 1-2-3 fly-em-out inning in the field for the Johnny Drama “VICTOREEEEEE!”

Hogz Notes: The Hogz received bad news when Seth “the kickstand” Fletcher re-injured his left knee. Also Jessie Bourcy made an appearance in the dugout fresh off of her ankle surgery that has put her on the 30 day DL. Jessamy Alto was also missed in the lineup due to a three week suspension for drug violation. Unknown to Alto, the Malaria “nightmare” pills she had been taking as a preventative measure for a trip oversees had been deamed a performance enhancing drug by the Fargo Park District. On a positive note, Rusche was back in the lineup after being day to day with a wrist injury after attempting a head first dive. The Hogz are set to play a double header next week against O’Leary’s Pub followed by a bye week and a fourth of July holiday break. These off weeks will hopefully help the injury plagued Hogz lineup.
